Lalla Keita has been a radio host at Radio Communautaire Bèlèkan in the Koulikoro region of Mali since 2013. Her passion for broadcasting began during a visit to a village in Kati, where she witnessed the devastating impact of malnutrition on rural women and children. This experience inspired her to dedicate herself to radio, raising awareness among rural communities about health and nutrition issues, and promoting a better quality of life through essential themes such as family health and agriculture.

With 10 years of experience, Mrs. Keita excels in producing interactive shows that reflect the concerns of her audience. She uses accessible language to engage her listeners in constructive debates, giving them a voice through street interviews and phone-in segments, while also inviting specialists and opinion leaders. Her shows cover critical issues, such as family planning and the fight against malnutrition, and offer practical solutions tailored to local realities.

To strengthen her connection with the audience, Mrs. Keita  has established listening clubs, made up of women and men from local communities, who regularly gather feedback and concerns from listeners. These direct exchanges allow her to tailor her content to the community’s real needs. Testimonials from women indicating increased access to arable land and better use of local products illustrate the positive impact of her shows, which inspire real changes in dietary practices and the daily lives of listeners.

As a member of Farm Radio’s network, Mrs. Keita has attended several training sessions that have enhanced her skills in radio production and improved the quality of her programs. Her dedication and passion for community radio have made her a prominent figure in the empowerment of rural women, contributing significantly to their well-being and emancipation.
