This factsheet from the United Nations provides information about the upcoming World Water Day on March 22, 2022. World Water Day raises awareness of the two billion people in the world who don’t have access to safe water. The day supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. 

The theme of this year’s World Water Day is “Groundwater: Making the invisible visible.” Almost all of the liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater. This resource provides information on how to sustainably manage groundwater and avoid overusing or polluting it.
