The 2016 Elections in Africa: Interactive Resource is an initiative of the African Research Institute (ARI). ARI is a think tank based in the United Kingdom that focuses exclusively on government, economy, and civil society in sub-Saharan Africa.

ARI’s online resource provides readers with a chronological timeline of the year’s elections, and expert briefings on each country.

At least a dozen sub-Saharan African nations are due to hold presidential or parliamentary elections this year, including Uganda, Zambia, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Djibouti.
