Confinement related to COVID-19 causes stress for many. In addition to mental and emotional stress, confinement due to COVID-19 is leading to an increased risk of trauma, violence, and gender-based violence, especially for women, children, and vulnerable groups.

The Association of Traumatic Memory and Victimology (l’association Mémoire Traumatique et Victimologie) published a report on these risks. The report includes information such as:

  • statistics on violence and gender-based violence.
  • how confinement due to COVID-19 could affect the well-being of women, children, and vulnerable groups.
  • the measures and resources necessary to support women, children, and vulnerable groups experiencing trauma and violence during COVID-19.

The report is available in French.
