    The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) invites entries for the 2024 Uganda National Journalism Awards, marking the event’s 10th anniversary. This year’s awards celebrate a decade of journalistic excellence in Uganda, recognizing the media’s crucial contribution to society. Journalists, media organizations, and platforms across the country are urged to submit their standout work for this milestone edition.

    Participating in the awards offers a chance to gain well-deserved national recognition for your impactful journalism, allowing you to cement your place in Ugandan media history alongside esteemed award winners.

    The winner and first runner-up of each category will receive a cash prize, a trophy, and a certificate.

    Eligibility:

    • Journalists must submit at least three and up to five pieces per category, showcasing their thematic expertise and consistent quality within their chosen area of focus.
    • The applicant submitting the form must be a Ugandan citizen.
    • Media organizations and platforms of all sizes and locations are eligible to compete for the Stanbic Shield of Journalism Award as well as the Newsroom and Editorial Transformation Award, and the Digital Innovation Award. 
    • ACME is accepting works published or broadcast in 2023. All local language entries must be accompanied by full translations in English.
