The deadline for the impactAFRICA story contest for reporting on water and sanitation is fast approaching. Journalists and broadcasters who report on water and sanitation issues in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, or Zambia are invited to apply. Winners will be sent on a study trip to the United States to tour top media outlets for 10 days.
Access to clean and safe water is a significant health and development concern, and impactAFRICA is interested in showcasing journalism that explores water challenges and pragmatic solutions.
Applicants must submit a report on water or sanitation issues published or broadcast in one of the six target countries between March 30 and June 30, 2016. Winners will be chosen in three categories: best community impact, best audience engagement, and best use of data.
The impactAFRICA initiative is a joint project of the International Center for Journalists and Code for Africa.
The application deadline is June 30, 2016.
