Media professionals and students are invited to a training session on Campware – the first free and open source radio management software. The session will be held in Accra, Ghana, on May 14 and 15. The training is offered by The Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) in collaboration with the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). It is one of the pre-conference trainings being held in conjunction with Idlelo 4, the Fourth African Conference on FOSS and the Digital Commons.

Day 1 of the training focuses on digital audio recording and editing with Audacity. Day 2 features instruction on Campcaster broadcasting software. Campcaster provides live studio broadcast capabilities as well as remote automation. Participants will be able to test the software with live broadcasts.

Sponsorships are available for five West African participants and three national (Ghanaian) participants from outside of Accra. They cover the cost of local accommodation and transportation. International travel costs must be covered by participants or the institutions that send them.
