Climate-related hazards such as floods, droughts, tropical cyclones, and heat waves are becoming more frequent and severe in many regions, highlighting the need for effective early warning systems that enable communities to prepare for and respond to impending hazards. Broadcasters play a critical role in translating technical forecasts and early warning information into action that communities can take. Through timely and accurate programming, you have built the trust of your community, which can be used to increase risk awareness, encourage preparedness, and prompt protective actions before hazards occur.
