The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) and UN Women – a United Nations organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment − are collaborating on a campaign aimed at ending violence against women and girls.
On Friday March 8, 2013, community and internet radio stations around the world will air programs focused on ending violence against women and girls. The programs will present the stories of victims, and discuss potential solutions and remaining challenges in the global effort to stop violence against women. Over 100 community and internet radio stations will broadcast to a listenership of over 15 million people!
