The African Investigative Journalism Conference is a three-day international event hosted by the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event includes skills training, networking, collaboration, and in-depth accounts of investigative reporting.

Investigative journalists are invited to apply for a bursary to attend this conference. Up to 40 African journalists will be provided with financial support covering flights, accommodation, transportation, meals, and conference fees.

Fellows can be print or broadcast journalists with a track record of investigative journalism and who want to develop their skills and learn from other journalists. They will be required to either produce a story or conduct a presentation about the conference in their home country.

It’s important to note that the conference will take place in English, without translation.

Applicants should send a short motivation letter and their CV, along with a sample of published works, to conference@journalism.co.za.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 2.
