Call for entries: Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents

The Calvados General Council and the town of Bayeux, France, are sponsoring the Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents. The 22nd edition of the Awards honours coverage of conflict situations or news events relating to the fight for freedom and democracy.

Journalists who cover war and conflict are invited to submit a report which was published or broadcast between June 1, 2014 and May 31, 2015, and fits within the following categories:

  • Young reporters
  • Long and short-form TV
  • Radio, print, online and photojournalism

The winner of each category will receive a cash prize ranging from €3,000 ($3,234 U.S.) to €7,000 ($7,546 U.S.). Carlotta Gall, senior correspondent for The New York Times, will preside over the jury’s deliberations.
