Reporters with experience covering the social, economic, and larger societal impact of HIV and AIDS, as well as the science and medicine of HIV and AIDS, are encouraged to apply for a fully-funded journalist-to-journalist training program. The training is being offered by the United States-based National Press Foundation from July 15-18, 2009, prior to the International AIDS Society conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Applicants must have covered HIV and AIDS or health for five or more years and must be able to speak and read English. The fellowships include air travel, lodging, a per diem, and most meals for the duration of the training, and lodging and per diems during the conference. The deadline to apply is April 20.
