The European Commission is now accepting applications for the 2022 Lorenzo Natali Journalism Prize. These awards recognize courageous journalists who have reported on one of the following topics: inequality, poverty eradication, sustainable development, environment, jobs and employment, education and skills development, migration, healthcare, peace, democracy, and human rights.
Award categories include the Grand Prize (open to any journalist) and Best Emerging Journalist (you must be under 30 to apply to this category). You can apply to either category by submitting a written article, video broadcast, or audio broadcast.
Your submitted work should have been published or broadcast between March 10, 2021 and March 9, 2022 by a media outlet based in a European Union partner country. Submissions must have been published or broadcast in English, French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish. Submissions in other languages must be accompanied by a translation in one of these languages.
The winner of each category will receive €10,000 (US $11,855). The winner of the Best Emerging Journalist category will also be offered a work opportunity with a media partner.
