This week’s Farmer story from Senegal describes how farmers need reliable, up-to-date weather information in order to plan their farming seasons.

This week’s Resource is a community of practice—a group of people who share knowledge about a common interest—that aims to improve farmers’ access to reliable weather data.

Journalists, farmers, NGOs, government, researchers, and others who are involved in gathering and sharing weather information can sign up to share experiences and ideas, and learn about current initiatives to make weather data more available to small-scale farmers.

The three-year project is called GODAN Action, or Global Open Data for Agriculture & Nutrition. It’s a project of CTA, the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation.
