Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalists Fellowship Programme

    The 2012 Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalists Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications. The fellowship is aimed at junior and mid-level broadcasters and journalists from developing countries. Journalists between the ages of 22 and 35 who are currently employed by recognized media organizations and who come from the following countries are eligible this year: Burundi, Central African Republic, Guinea, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Malawi and Niger.

    The Programme will host 12 media professionals for a period of five weeks. The first four weeks will take place in New York and the last week in Geneva. Journalists will learn about the work of the UN and have the opportunity to prepare news stories on behalf of their news organizations. Candidates must be fluent in English.

    The deadline for applications is May 31, 2012.
