Grant for multimedia reporting on African health and agricultural development

WITS Journalism and the China Africa Project are offering multimedia grants through the Africa-China Reporting Project, which aims to showcase innovations, programs, and trends in health and agricultural development in Africa.

To apply, journalists must submit their CV, three samples of previous related work, and a brief letter of intent to propose a story in the format of their choice. Acceptable formats include 600- to 2,000-word articles, photographs, or video blogs.

Stories must touch on one or more of the following topics: health and agricultural development, best practices and lessons learned by Chinese and/or African professionals, insight and analysis on health and agricultural trends in Africa, and profiles of role models and innovators in the African health and agricultural sectors.

Successful applicants will receive a maximum of $3,000 USD to produce the story.

Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis from now until August 2021.
