The YenKasa Africa initiative is seeking to change and evolve and would like your ideas on its new direction. Join us for the second Yenkasa Africa online consultation slated for April 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. CET to re-define the future of the initiative.

YenKasa Africa was launched a decade ago under the Food and Agriculture Organization’s Communication for Development framework, and in that time it has become a collaborative platform for promoting inclusive rural communication services. It has particularly been promoting the UN Decade of Family Farming through participatory outreach, training, and networking, including a campaign with Farm Radio International’s network.

Many network members also participated in a 2023 online discussion about Collaboration for Effective Rural Communication Services as part of YenKasa Africa’s activities.

Join FAO, regional farmers groups, media and communication organizations, and more for this event. Your presence is paramount as YenKasa re-commits to enhance knowledge and experience sharing in communication to support agriculture and rural development in sub-Saharan Africa.
