As you may recall, we recently invited your input in suggesting a new name for our department. We were thrilled to receive numerous creative and thoughtful suggestions from many of you. After careful consideration and review of your submissions, we are excited to announce our new name: Just Communication. Check out the logo above.
Farm Radio International’s network — the one that you are part of — is evolving to become Just Communication Network! This new name reflects our expanded focus on promoting inclusive, equitable, and effective communication for social change just as our tagline says: connect, inform,amplify.
Over the years, our network has grown and diversified. Our new name acknowledges this evolution and reaffirms our commitment to harnessing the power of communication to drive positive impact.
What does this change mean for you?
Just Communication Network is an initiative of, and still a department of, Farm Radio International. We envision an Africa where knowledge flows, connections grow, and every voice counts. Our mission is to empower African media to advance sustainable development in underserved communities by
- fostering inclusive dialogue,
- enabling informed decision-making, and
- inspiring lasting change.
The Just Communication Network is more than just a new name – it represents our renewed commitment to promoting communication as a tool for social change. The name change will not affect our services. We will continue to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, expertise, and resources. We will maintain our strong focus on supporting our network members and expanding to communities where we do not have a presence.
We invite you to join us on this exciting journey and continue to be an integral part of our network. We would like to host a series of consultations over the next six months to get your input into what the Just Communication Network can become and to invite your deeper involvement.
