Two of this week’s stories deal with the aftermath of conflict. To complement the theme of these stories, the script of the week is from a script package produced in 2003 entitled, “Rebuilding rural lives and livelihoods.” The package featured scripts on how communities can pick up the pieces after an emergency, conflict or local dispute.
The script includes three short pieces that highlight different aspects of coping with stressful situations. It is intended to encourage discussion about the feelings people experience after conflict, such as pain, loss and confusion. It also highlights the often hidden ways women are affected. For example, women may find themselves as sole providers for their families.
