Sara stays in school and Sara learns about nutrition and health at school

Our story from Ghana highlights the benefits of young women participating in training and then working in the technical trades, careers that are often thought of as reserved for men. Our Script of the Week is a short two-part drama that underlines the benefits to families when girls receive a basic education.

In part one, we see that, when girls go to school, everybody in the family benefits. When children, particularly girls, receive a basic education, they can help their parents on the farm by reading information about new farming practices, and by reading instructions on seed packages and fertilizer bags.

In part two, we see that, when girls attend school, they learn to prevent illness and take care of sick children.
