This week, FAO announced that they are testing chili pepper as a tool for scaring elephants away from farmers’ fields. Chili pepper, as well as being a tasty ingredient in many dishes, has various other uses on the farm. The script of the week is a short interview. It describes how pepper is used to protect stored rice. Mr. Bamba, a rice farmer from Guinea, explains why he came up with this idea. Then he describes how to prepare and use the pepper powder.
