In honour of World Water Day on March 22, this week’s script looks at a community in the Democratic Republic of Congo that drastically improved their water and sanitation in two short years. In Nsilulu Kanga, diarrhoea and other diseases were common due to the lack of safe drinking water and hygienic toilets. Community members banded together to build latrines and wells, and to educate people about hand-washing. With the help of two NGOs and the commitment of the villagers, the community now has access to clean drinking water.
