The right to water

Water is an invaluable resource. Safe drinking water and sanitation are vital to sustain humans, crops, and animals. However, billions of people around the world do not have access to safe water in their homes, schools, and workplaces. The United Nations, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, has produced a fact sheet titled “The Right to Water” that explains what water rights are, what they mean to specific individuals and groups, and the responsibility of governments to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation for all.
