Rotational grazing

Pastures that are grazed continuously are soon exhausted. Over time, they won’t be able to provide for animals. But rotational grazing can provide a solution.

To practice rotational grazing, pastoralists divide their pasture into sections with fencing, and let the animals graze one section at a time. When the plants in that section are half-eaten, move the animals to another section so that the pasture never becomes fully exhausted and depleted.

Pastoralists can also enrich their pastures by adding good fodder plants.
