Poynter News University offers a short, self-directed course entitled “Covering climate change.” You can start and stop the course when you like, move at your own pace, and go back as many times as you want to review the material.
The goal of the course is to give non-expert journalists a firm grounding in the science and policy of climate change. You will learn all the basics needed to report on climate change with accuracy and depth. You might not become an expert, but in approximately four hours, this course can help you report with greater confidence.
The course is free of charge. For more information and to sign up, go to: http://www.newsu.org/courses/covering-climate-change
