The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is calling for applications to its Young Reporter Competition. The competition is open to young people worldwide between the ages of 18 and 25.
Candidates are invited to submit a communication project (an article, photo reportage, video, or radio documentary) on a humanitarian topic of their choice in French or English. The project will be assessed on various criteria, including the originality of the topic and the relevance of the message.Candidates will be asked to supply a CV, letter of recommendation and a completed application form. Deadline for entry is 1 October 2010.
Four winners will be chosen. They will win a one-week mission to ICRC delegations in Georgia, Lebanon, Liberia or the Philippines. The winners will prepare a news report while on mission. The finished reports will be presented during a ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland, around May 8, 2011.
