AMARC resources for World Food Day

To mark this year’s World Food Day theme of Agricultural Cooperatives, the Montreal-based World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), in partnership with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, is highlighting the important role of co-operatives in food security. AMARC calls on members of its network to produce and broadcast programs and share them with the entire AMARC network via its website.

Through service to members, networking and project implementation, AMARC brings together a network of more than 4,000 community radio stations, federations and community media stakeholders in more than 130 countries.

World Food Day is marked each year on October 16. For more information, visit: http://www.fao.org/getinvolved/worldfoodday/en/ [1]

This year, World Food Day programs were broadcast in English, French, Spanish, Nepali, Portuguese, Bahasa and other languages. The programs are available on the AMARC website. We encourage you to rebroadcast the programs to your communities. Please visit the AMARC website at http://www2.amarc.org/?q=wfd2012 [2] to download the programs.
