Seed-Sector-Sub-Sahara-report-5The African Centre for Biosafety, or ACB, conducts research, analysis, and advocacy, and shares information to promote informed engagement with national and international policies, and with decision-making on production, distribution, and access to food and natural resources.

ACB is active in the agroecological movement in Africa, and values equal access to and free use of resources. It also advocates on issues related to poverty, women, and the environment in the context of social justice and food sovereignty.

ACB’s latest report concerns sub-Saharan Africa’s seed systems, which are undergoing a profound transition. The report outlines some of the major trends and the activities of the major players, from seed companies such as Monsanto and DuPont Pioneer, to the broader donor community, including organizations such as Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, or AGRA.
