The Thomson Reuters Foundation is offering a six-day intensive course designed to help journalists enhance their coverage of women’s issues, opinions and empowerment. Participants will attend four days of classes and then attend the News Xchange conference in Barcelona on November 14-16 (http://www.newsxchange.org/).

Themes covered will include: choosing the best angle for your story; writing for greater impact; ethics and fact-checking; and safety for female journalists. The course will also explore what a female perspective can bring to media coverage of any event or situation.

Applicants should have two years of professional journalism experience and demonstrate a strong interest in women’s issues. A good level of written and spoken English is required.
