The Thomson Foundation is sponsoring an award for young journalists working in the developing world as part of the 2016 UK Foreign Press Association Awards.

Three finalists will be flown to London for the gala award night in November, along with a host of other potential award winners and leading figures from the world of journalism.

Journalists working in countries with a per capita Gross Domestic Product of less than US$20,000 (see list at http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD) are eligible.

Entrants should submit a portfolio of three published pieces of work (print, audio, video, multimedia, or a combination of all four) produced in the 12 months preceding Aug. 28. Entries can be in any language, but should be accompanied by a verbatim English-language translation.

The deadline for submission is Aug. 28.
