Southern African-German Journalists’ Bursary

International Journalists’ Programmes is offering a bursary to six journalists from Southern Africa to work in Germany for two months. The Southern African-German Journalists’ Bursary is intended to support young journalists to gain insights into the political, economic, cultural, and social fabric of the host country.

The opportunity is open to journalists aged 25 to 40 from the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Germany.

Fellows will receive about $3,400 US to cover expenses such as travel, accommodation, and living.

Candidates must have a strong command of English. German is an asset.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 15.
