The University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg is offering grants for stories about Francophone Africa and China. The grants will fund stories that examine China’s promises in Africa, made at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2015, as well as the relationship between China and these countries.

The grants are open to all French-speaking African journalists. Preference will be given to proposals with a narrow focus on specific projects or issues. Journalists should identify individuals or communities that will be featured in the story.
