Register for free, online course on covering the COVID-19 vaccines

The Knight Center for Journalism is inviting interested journalists to register for a free online course on how to report about the COVID-19 vaccines. 

The course is titled “Covering the COVID-19 vaccine: What journalists need to know,” and offers an overview of issues and information about the COVID-19 vaccines. The course will take place from March 29 until April 25, 2021 in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The course will be taught by health and science journalist Maryn McKenna and guest speakers in each language. It will include video classes, reading materials, discussion forums, and quizzes.

The course consists of four weekly modules:

  • The development and technology behind the COVID-19 vaccines
  • The global distribution of vaccines and vaccine inequity
  • Vaccine hesitancy, and misinformation and disinformation about vaccines
  • Preventative measures against COVID-19 and COVID-19 variants
