Rainforest Journalism Fund

The Pulitzer Center is offering reporting grants for stories about tropical rainforests in the Congo Basin. The reporting projects should focus on one of the following themes:

  • Tropical forests’ role in the overall climate equation and weather patterns globally, regionally, and locally, as well as the consequences for human life and living conditions caused by deforestation.
  • Deforestation drivers.
  • Solutions to halt deforestation.

The Pulitzer Center will fund costs associated with the reporting projects, depending on the budget provided. Most grants will range from $2,500 to $7,500, but some projects may be granted more money if necessary.

Grants are open to journalists, photographers, radio producers, and filmmakers.

Applications may be in English or French. They must include a proposal, a distribution plan, and a budget. Your application must also include examples of published work and professional references.

There is a rolling deadline.
