Climate Tracker is offering six fully-paid opportunities for African journalists to cover the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, from May 26 to 28, 2020.
As part of their application, journalists must submit a story they wrote and published in national or international media before early March. Eligible topics include energy access, cooking with clean energy, rights associated with energy transitions, how to ensure that everyone can benefit from access to sustainable energy, and sustainable energy and climate change.
Successful applicants will attend the forum, receive training from communication and energy experts, and be awarded a grant to write an investigative story on energy challenges in their home country.
The deadline for submissions is March 18, 2020. Applicants chosen for the shortlist will be asked to submit a pitch for their investigative story by March 30, 2020. The six journalists selected for this opportunity will be announced April 10, 2020.
