Radio and television broadcasters who participated in the 2010 International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) this past March are invited to apply for the ICDB Award. The award is presented by UNICEF to honour programming that provides youth with the opportunity to speak up and be heard.

To be eligible for the ICDB Award, the broadcast must have taken place on or around Sunday, March 7, 2010, in conjunction with the ICDB. Programs should be aimed at young people and created with some youth participation. UNICEF will also consider broadcasters’ ongoing commitment to youth participation in media.

Programs will be judged regionally. Regional prize winners will compete for the overall ICDB Award, to be presented at a ceremony in New York City in November. For more information on the award and how to enter, visit: http://www.unicef.org/videoaudio/video_18112.html.
