Print, broadcast, and online journalists can apply for fellowships to participate in a three-day workshop on rural poverty and development.

Selected journalists will attend the United Nation’s International Fund for Agricultural Development Governing Council from February 16 to 18, 2016 in Rome, Italy.

The workshop will address how small-scale agriculture can respond to the growing demand for food, and the need to support rural transformation and smallholder agriculture.

Applicants must be working as journalists or as regular contributors to print, broadcast, or online media organizations. Journalists must also have at least two years of experience and a good level of spoken and written English. Candidates should include professional evidence of their interest in rural issues and development.

Selected journalists will receive a fellowship that covers air travel, accommodation, meals, and local transportation. The application deadline is Jan. 18, 2016.
