Deutsche Welle is accepting entries for its BOBs contest—Best of Online Activism. The contest aims to promote freedom of expression and human rights activism on the Internet and globally.

Journalists and bloggers from around the world can submit entries in the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Ukrainian. Websites must be accessible to the public.

Deutsche Welle will present a Freedom of Speech Award, in addition to four multilingual categories: Social Change, Tech for Good, Arts and Culture, and Citizen Journalism. There is also a Users’ Award that honours one project or person in each of the BOBs’ languages.

The BOBs website will announce the winners in early May. Winners of this year’s Jury Awards will be invited to receive their prizes as part of the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum on June 14, in Bonn, Germany.

The application deadline is March 3.
