The Thomson Reuters Foundation is offering scholarships to attend a training program for journalists in Africa who want to report on how sport is governed in their country or wider region.

Participating journalists will work on a specific story idea during an intensive workshop in Lagos, Nigeria. The workshop will cover investigative techniques, storytelling approaches, and more.

Participating journalists can apply for funding to help cover the costs of reporting their story.

Candidates can be radio, print, television, or online journalists based in Africa who work for a domestic media outlet. They must have a proven interest in how sport is governed, but do not need to specialize in sports reporting.

The deadline to apply is June 11, 2018.
