InfoCongo is once again inviting journalists to submit proposals to cover pressing issues in the Congo Basin. The organization is providing grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 to support stories and visuals.

Proposals should focus on producing one or more stories, maps, or data visualization elements.

Topics of interest to InfoCongo include:

  • illegal exploitation of wildlife and forest resources in the Congo Basin;
  • the cost of human conflicts on forest and conservation;
  • climate change and forest-related stories; and
  • the social and environmental costs and benefits of regional development projects.

Grants may cover stipend and travel costs on request, but not equipment.

Both independent journalists and those working with established media outlets may apply.

The deadline to apply is May 20.
