The Pulitzer Centre is accepting applications for grants to support reporting about gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

Eligible stories should:

  • Be data-driven in nature,
  • Feature under-represented voices,
  • Demonstrate resilience, and
  • Address systemic gender equality issues.

To apply, journalists must submit a description of the proposed story (250 words maximum), a budget estimate, including a basic breakdown of costs, and a distribution plan for where the story would be published and/or shared.

The average grant is expected to be $5,000 USD. The application form is available only in English.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
