Grants available to journalists working in biodiversity and conservation

Through the Biodiversity Media Initiative, the Earth Journalism Network is accepting applications for grants to support projects that address biodiversity and conservation.

Eligible projects must build the capacity of journalists or media organizations to report on biodiversity and conservation, or otherwise organize local networks to take action on these issues.

Projects based in areas of high biodiversity, such as the Amazon, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia, are preferred.

Eligible applicants can include members of journalist networks, media organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and non-government organizations based in the Global South.

A total of $48,000 USD in grant funding is available. The average grant is expected to range between $10,000 and $15,000 USD.

The deadline to apply is October 15, 2020.
