SciDev.Net is offering a free, online course to help reporters cover the science of COVID-19. The course aims to help journalists find and use credible sources to share accurate information about COVID-19. The course is led by scientist and journalist Dr. Charles Wendo.

The course has three modules that cover:

– Why COVID-19 might not be the last respiratory virus.

– How to find credible sources of information about COVID-19 online.

– How to tell the story of COVID-19 to the public.

The estimated time required to complete the course is three hours. Before beginning, participants are encouraged to read “How to report the science of COVID-19,” a practical guide about fact-checking, verifying information, and critical thinking.

The course can be completed at any time, on any device. It is available only in English.
