The Nieman-Berkman Klein Fellowship in Journalism Innovation brings journalists from around the world to Harvard University in the United States. Fellows spend a year at Harvard, working on research or on specific projects related to the digital transformation of journalism. Fellows will share the results of their work through the Nieman Journalism Lab.
Candidates for the 2018-19 fellowship must submit a proposal detailing a specific course of study or a project related to journalism innovation. For example, fellows could develop ideas for new revenue streams to fund journalism, create new reporting tools, or conduct research into how people consume news. Candidates must explain how their proposals will benefit journalism.
This fellowship is open to both US and international applicants. Working journalists, including freelancers, and those working for news organizations in business, technology, or leadership roles are eligible to apply. Applicants must be fluent in English.
The application deadline for international journalists is Dec. 1, 2017.
