Feeding a Hungry Planet: Agriculture, Nutrition and Sustainability

Agriculture is more than waving fields of wheat. Our ability to grow food from existing natural resources—without decimating those resources—is key to sustainably feeding the world. In this seven-week massive open online course (MOOC), learn about food security worldwide, the effects of malnutrition, how we manage ecosystems that provide food resources, and more.

According to the course sponsors, you’ll emerge from this course with a clear answer to the question: What can I do to make food consumption and production more sustainable?

This online course from SDG Academy examines key questions in agriculture and nutrition, including how we ensure a healthy and sustainable diet for a growing world population, and how agriculture should adapt to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Last year, more than 4,000 people from 100 countries participated in this free online course. The course is aimed at graduate students, agricultural professionals, or individuals working in sustainable development.

The course begins on Feb. 10. It requires 3-5 hours of work per week over the course of seven weeks. The course is only available in English.
