December 21, 2009: Deadline to apply for cultural journalism course

Community radio organizations in francophone West Africa are invited to apply for a course designed to strengthen local radios. This comprehensive course aims to assist radio organizations in defining their objectives, and striving to meet them through good management, tailored programming, and resource mobilization.

The course includes 20 weeks of online training, broken down into four sessions for the following staff members: directors, program managers, producers/journalists, and technicians. It will culminate in a workshop held in Dédougou, Burkina Faso, in July 2010. The online component will be held on www.mediafrica.net [1]; the overall course is sponsored by Stem van Afrika. Ten radio organizations will be subsidized to participate in the course. The subsidized rate is 100 Euros (approximately 145 American dollars) and the non-subsidized rate is 1,500 Euros (approximately 2,190 American dollars).
