CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards: deadline 27 January 2011

    The CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards aim to encourage, promote and recognize excellence in African journalism. The competition is open to African nationals who are professional journalists, including freelancers, working in radio, print, television, internet or photography.     This year, the competition will recognize excellence in 16 categories, including:

    • Digital Journalism Award
    • Environment Award
    • Free Press Africa Award
    • The HIV/AIDS Reporting Award
    • Radio General News Award
    • Tourism Award
    • Francophone General News Awards

    From the 16 category winners, the judges will choose the overall winner − the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist 2011.

    The closing date for entries is 27 January 2011. Judging will take place in April, 2011. All entries must have been broadcast or published during the period between January and December 2010.
