Call for submissions: ‘Voices2Paris,’ UNDP storytelling contest

The United Nations’ Development Programme [1] (UNDP) has launched a global storytelling contest, Voices2Paris [2]. The contest aims to raise public awareness of the negative impacts of climate change. It is also designed to raise awareness of the opportunities and solutions reflected in actions by individuals and governments in developing countries that are vulnerable to climate change.

UNDP invites submissions from journalists in developing countries aged 35 years of age and under. The journalists should already be engaged in public writing and want to contribute—locally and internationally—to greater public awareness of climate change.

The best stories will carry messages of struggle, opportunity, and hope from climate change frontlines worldwide. They will be published, online and elsewhere, every day in the run-up to the Conference of Parties, or COP21 [3], to be held in Paris, France, in December, 2015.

The authors of two prize-winning stories will be invited to attend and cover the COP21 UN climate summit.

Stories can be submitted in English, or in Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish with an English translation, until October 11, 2015.

The contest guidelines are available here: http://www.apo.af/bXq9up [4]
