The World Press Institute is offering three-month fellowships for experienced journalists hoping to improve their understanding of American journalism.
The fellowships aim to expose participants to working conditions in the U.S. media. Fellows will report on a variety of social issues to gain understanding of how U.S. institutions respond to different social concerns.
The 2015 fellowship runs from mid-August to mid-October. Fellows will spend three weeks in Minnesota and then travel to several U.S. cities, including New York and Washington, for briefings, interviews and visits. They will return to Minnesota for the final week of the program.
Applicants must reside outside the United States. They must demonstrate leadership potential and have five years of full-time news experience. Freelancers are eligible to apply. Fluency in English is required.
The deadline for applications is February 15, 2015.
