This annual award, established in honour of Richard J. Margolis, recognizes a promising new journalist or essayist whose work combines warmth, humour, wisdom and concern with social justice.
The award combines a one-month residency at Blue Mountain Center with a $5,000 prize.
Candidates are invited to submit examples of published work and a short biography. The submission should include a description of work-in-progress and planned, along with a brief description of how the applicant will benefit from his or her residence at the Blue Mountain Center.
The deadline for applications is July 1, 2013, and the winner will be announced in November.
